Creekside is the original base area of Whistler, about 5 km south of Whistler Village. It has its own gondola up Whistler Mountain, quieter streets and often lower prices, but you will drive or take the bus to the main village at night.

Yes, if you want a quieter base with its own gondola and do not need to walk to nightlife.
The bus runs regularly along Highway 99 and takes about 10 minutes, or it is a short drive.
Rentals are often cheaper for the same size, though slopeside units near the gondola are still in high demand.
